Since the launch of Ontario’s Green Energy Act, and Feed-In-Tariff Program, we’ve trained more students than any other.
Over 500 graduates from across Ontario, as well as other Canadian provinces, the USA, the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
We believe that the best way to learn is through hands-on experience. Our solar training courses are taught by NABCEP-certified instructors who have mastered their skills through practical application.
Our program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to launch a career, start a new business, or grow an existing one within the solar industry. We combine extensive theory with hands-on exercises, allowing you to gain valuable experience and confidence in your abilities.
At the conclusion of our 6-week course, you will have the opportunity to participate in a field trip to a state-of-the-art green building featuring solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in operation. This experience will provide you with a real-world understanding of how solar energy is implemented and utilized in a practical setting.
Join us for our Workshops & Field Trips program and take the first step towards a successful career in the solar industry.
Whether you are a seasoned professional or have no prior experience in the field, our program is designed to help you master solar photovoltaic (PV) design, installation, and safety. Our curriculum is carefully crafted to align with the learning objectives of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).
Through 6 weeks of intensive solar panel training, you will learn a range of skills, including:
At our solar training program, we provide a NABCEP-based, solar training experience that is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a successful career in the solar industry.
Our program is accredited by the Institute for Sustainable Power Quality (ISPQ) and is taught by NABCEP-certified lead instructors with extensive professional experience. Our instructors have accumulated thousands of hours of solar PV teaching experience and utilize a teaching style that is accessible to solar novices while engaging more experienced students.
Our 6-Week "Entry Level Solar PV Design & Installation Course" is an intensive and hands-on course, providing students with practical experience and a deep understanding of solar energy.
Those who successfully complete our program will be eligible to sit for the NABCEP PV Entry Level Exam, a valuable certification that demonstrates a mastery of the foundational principles of solar energy.
Join us for our NABCEP-based, solar training experience and take the first step towards a successful career in the solar industry.
Voicelight Solar Academy International - Canada's leading solar training institute, holds Toronto, Ontario courses at Evergreen Brick Works, a world-renowned community environmental centre that inspires and equips visitors to live, work and play more sustainably. It's a remarkable space to learn about solar energy.
Evergreen Brick Work's oasis within the city - surrounded by 40 acres of land in the heart of Toronto - is situated in the heart of Toronto’s ravine network, adjacent to the lower Don River, just minutes from downtown, off Bayview Avenue.
Evergreen recently installed 22 solar photovoltaic (PV) modules on the roof of Evergreen Garden Market, the sustainable garden market at Evergreen Brick Works. The panels convert sunlight into 4KW of electricity, roughly 75 percent of the annual electricity consumed by a household of four. Meters on public display show visitors how these “roof tenants” positively contribute to the household balance sheet and the environment.
All students completing the course receive Solar Academy International’s “Solar Practitioner Certificate: Level One.”
As part of our 5-Day course, we provide a unique and valuable field trip experience on the final day. Our field trip takes students to a state-of-the-art green building that is certified Gold under LEED for New Construction. This building is a showcase of cutting-edge sustainable building technology, including solar energy and energy metering.
During the field trip, students will have the opportunity to see two solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in operation. The first is a 28 kW fixed system, and the second is a 58 kW parking lot system with 6 separate dual-axis tracking arrays that follow the sun from east to west during the day, increasing output by up to 30 per cent over a fixed panel.
The full program includes approximately 32 hours of professional training over the five-day course, culminating in this valuable field trip experience.
